Message from the Conference Chair
Greetings from Jakarta!
Greetings from Jakarta!

We are honored to announce that the 15th International Conference on Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Handbook will be held from August 27–28, 2026, at the Manhattan Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Building upon the success of our 2024 gathering in Manila, this year’s conference marks a pivotal shift in our global mission. While our previous efforts laid the foundation for "Safe Beginnings" and the fulfillment of fundamental healthcare rights, we now look toward the future. Our 2026 theme, “MCH Handbook: From Fulfilling Rights to Building Resilience” reflects our commitment to empowering families and healthcare systems, transforming the MCH Handbook from a record of rights into a vital tool for building long-term resilience.
This event will serve as a global forum for experts, healthcare practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to exchange innovative strategies and strengthen maternal and child health outcomes in an ever-changing world.

We cordially invite your participation in this landmark event. We firmly believe that your insights and collaboration are essential assets in our collective journey toward ensuring a resilient and healthy future for mothers and children worldwide.

We look forward to welcoming you to Jakarta!

About the Conference

The 15th International Conference on Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Handbooks arrives at a pivotal moment as nations strive to strengthen resilient health systems. These systems must be capable of sustaining essential maternal and child health services despite facing various global and national challenges.

The chosen theme, "MCH Handbooks: From Fulfilling Rights to Building Resilience," reflects a collective commitment to advancing a rights-based, people-centered, and resilient approach to maternal and child health care.

The Expected Outcome

The conference is expected to produce the following outcomes:

1. Strengthened shared understanding among participating countries and partners of the strategic role of the MCH Handbook in building resilient, people-centered primary health care systems.

2. Enhanced capacity and cross-country learning, supported by systematic exchange of practical experiences, implementation models, and policy approaches, with particular emphasis on south-south and triangular cooperation.

3. Identification and dissemination of innovative practices related to digital MCH Handbooks and specialized versions addressing vulnerable populations.

4. Reinforced alignment between national MCH Handbook initiatives and global and regional frameworks, including those promoted by WHO, UNICEF, and JICA.

5. Strengthened partnerships and networks among governments, international organizations, academic institutions, and development partners, supporting sustainability and long-term impact.

6. An action-oriented conference outcome document (e.g., Jakarta Declaration) outlining shared commitments, priority actions, and future directions for MCH Handbook development and utilization.
